The Movements ledger is a read-only history of every quantity change in your workspace. It is your source of truth for audits, reconciliation, and answering “what happened to this SKU?”
Open it from Inventory → Movements in the sidebar.
What appears in the ledger
Every time stock changes, Retrac appends a movement record. Common types you will see:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|
| Opening | Initial or set on-hand quantity |
| Transfer out | Stock left a location via transfer |
| Transfer in | Stock arrived at a location via transfer |
| Revert out / in | Stock restored after a transfer was reverted |
| Adjustment + / − | Manual quantity correction |
Each row typically shows the item, movement type, quantity, locations involved, optional note, who performed the action, and timestamp.
When to use movements
- End-of-day review — confirm transfers and adjustments match what happened on the floor
- Dispute resolution — trace when quantity changed for a specific item
- Audit prep — review chronological stock activity (pair with item-level location view for current balances)
What movements are not
- Not editable — you cannot change or delete ledger entries. Correct mistakes with a new adjustment or transfer revert.
- Not an inventory view — for current on-hand counts, use Inventory or an item’s Locations panel.
- Not billing events — transfer limits are counted separately on your plan usage meter.
Movements are listed newest first, 50 per page. Use pagination controls at the bottom to go further back in history.
Pair with Transfers → Revert (owners only) when a transfer was wrong but stock has not moved again. Use item Locations for current totals; use Movements for the story of how you got there.
