Locations are where your inventory physically (or logically) lives. Every on-hand quantity is tied to an item and a location. Transfers move stock between locations.

Location types

When creating a location, choose a type that fits how you operate:
TypeTypical use
WarehouseMain storage, distribution center
VanMobile sales or service vehicle
TruckLarger mobile unit or freight
SiteJob site, retail floor, pop-up
OtherAnything that does not fit above
The type is for organization and display — it does not change how stock math works.

Create a location

1

Open Locations

Click Locations in the sidebar.
2

Add location

Click Add location, enter a name (unique within the workspace), choose a type, and add an optional note.
3

Save

Save the location. It appears on the Locations page with a count of items that have stock there.
Your plan caps how many locations you can have. The first location created with your workspace is Inventory — often used as the default receiving location.

Default location

Workspace owners set the default location under Settings → General. This location is pre-selected when you add items with opening stock from the inventory page.

View location inventory

Click a location card to open inventory filtered to that location. Use the location dropdown on the Inventory page to check counts without leaving the list.

Edit or delete a location

From a location card’s menu:
  • Edit — change name, type, or note
  • Delete — remove the location
You cannot delete a location that still has stock balances. Transfer or adjust stock to zero at that location first, or move items elsewhere.

Location access for team members

When inviting teammates, you can restrict which locations each member can view or edit. Owners always see everything. See How to invite teammates. See Locations documentation for more.
