Tags help you organize items by category, product line, season, supplier, or any grouping that makes sense for your business.
What is a tag
A tag is a colored label you attach to one or more items. Tags do not affect stock quantities — they are for organization and filtering only.
Each tag has:
- A name — keep it short, e.g. “Apparel”, “Q4 Promo”, “Discontinued”
- A color — use consistently across your team (e.g. red for urgent categories)
Your plan limits how many tags you can create per workspace.
Create a tag
Open Tags
Go to Inventory → Tags in the sidebar (under Library).
Add tag
Click Add tag, enter a name, pick a color, and save.
When creating or editing an item, use the Tags section in the add/edit modal to search and attach one or more tags.
You can also manage tags while editing an item from the inventory list (⋯ menu → Edit).
Filter inventory by tag
On the Inventory page:
- Open the Filter control.
- Select one or more tags.
- The list shows only items matching your selection.
Combine tag filters with search and location selection — e.g. all “Summer” tagged products at the “Warehouse” location.
From Inventory → Tags, open a tag card’s menu to rename, recolor, or delete.
Deleting a tag removes it from all items that used it. Items themselves are not deleted.
Best practices
- Keep names short and meaningful for your whole team
- Use color consistently — e.g. blue for raw materials, green for finished goods
- Avoid tag sprawl — 10–20 well-defined tags beat hundreds of one-off labels
