A workspace is your company’s home in Retrac — one product catalog, one set of locations, one billing plan, and one team. Think of it like a Slack workspace: separate from other organizations you might join.

What lives in a workspace

Everything you manage in Retrac belongs to a single workspace:
  • Items — your product catalog and SKUs
  • Locations — warehouses, vans, stores, and other places you hold stock
  • Transfers — stock movements between your locations
  • Tags — colored labels for organizing items
  • Members — owners and members with roles and location access
  • Billing — subscription and usage limits for this business

Workspace URL

Each workspace has a slug — a URL-friendly identifier. If your slug is acme-supply, your dashboard lives at:
https://app.retrac.co/acme-supply/inventory
Owners can change the slug under Settings → General. Updating the slug changes your dashboard URL.

Multiple workspaces

One person can belong to many workspaces — useful if you run separate businesses or manage inventory for clients. Each workspace has its own plan, usage, and members. Billing is per workspace, not per user account. Use the workspace switcher in the sidebar to move between workspaces.

Default setup

When you create a workspace, Retrac:
  1. Creates a default location named Inventory
  2. Sets it as the default location for opening stock on new items
